Timothee Chalamets all around, Gay Halloween, Saoirse Ronan's mic drop moment & more...
Vol. 1 Issue 32 – 2nd November 2024
The internet was obsessed
The Timothee Chalamet lookalike competition in New York was a roaring success (I’ve been looking forward to it since Issue 29 of this newsletter). Like any coveted and highly anticipated event, there were huge crowds, a last-minute location change due to said crowd, arrests by the police, a $500 fine to the organiser wearing a top hat, a 6-foot tall trophy, a deserving winner, and of course, a surprise. Proving why he is so loved by so many, the man himself, Timothee Chalamet dropped in to meet the participants. Wearing a mask, he stayed concealed in the audience for a while and eventually, in a very Dune-esque move, revealed himself while the pack made way for him to reach the front. The winner of the trophy and $50 cash prize was 21-year-old Miles Mitchell dressed as Willy Wonka.
“I hate gay Halloween what do you mean you are…” tweets are popping off with some of the most niche and absurd costumes this year. Here’s a few of my favourites, plus some other unique costumes I came across on Twitter.
An interview of Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, Eddie Redmayne and Denzel Washington is going viral. In the Graham Norton Show clip, Paul Mescal is seen talking about self-defence and recounting someone telling him to use his phone as a weapon, as he laughs it off stating, “Who is actually going to think about that?”, to which a visibly baffled Saoirse, fittingly quips, “That’s what girls have to think about all the time.” Period.
Happy Halloween
Heidi Klum is known for her annual Halloween party and dressing up elaborately for the same. In 2022, she was a worm, ‘23, a peacock, and this year too she left no stone unturned as she opted to become the movie character E.T. for the night. The animatronic costume was fully functional with a moving head and fluttering eyelids. And if you’re wondering where Heidi’s face is, look closely at E.T.’s neck.
And here’s some other celebs who went all out for Halloween.

The Wicked movie, while getting rave early reviews, has terrible lighting. The clips released online show gloomy, back-lit scenes where the actors look more like silhouettes and none of the beautiful production design is visible.
