The 2025 CinemaCon just took place in Vegas. The 4-day event is the world's largest and most important gathering of movie theater owners, showcasing upcoming films, featuring exclusive Hollywood product presentations, and attracting all facets of the international motion picture theater industry. Here’s what went down at the presentations of some of the major studios:
Disney: Alongside promoting Freakier Friday, Marvel’s Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four (revealing that Sue Storm will be pregnant in the movie, as fans have been speculating), new footage was presented for Tron: Ares and the Bruce Springsteen biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere, starring Jeremy Allen White. Zoe Saldaña then unveiled Pixar’s Elio and the new trailer for Zootopia 2 and a first look at Avatar: Fire and Ash!
New peek at Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen in ‘DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE’ Paramount: Paramount Pictures howcased The Running Man, starring Glen Powell, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, The Naked Gun, and Tom Cruise took to the stage for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, praising director Christopher McQuarrie and honoring the late Val Kilmer.
Universal: Treated to an exclusive look at the latest Jurassic World Rebirth trailer, attendees were shown trailers for Black Phone 2 and Five Nights At Freddy’s 2, concluding the day with the first glimpse of Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: For Good, featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, the two promising that the press tour will hopefully have less tears this time.
Amazon MGM: Amazon MGM Studios unveiled its 2026 slate, featuring 14 upcoming releases, showing an early look at Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, behind-the-scenes footage from Verity, Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri, and director Luca Guadagnino presented After the Hunt, along with a Masters of the Universe sneak peek, and an extended trailer for The Accountant 2.
Warner Bros: They showcased the Cat in the Hat trailer, followed by James Gunn and Peter Safran introducing the new Superman stars. Later, Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, and Leonardo DiCaprio discussed their collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson on One Battle After Another.
Sony: Starting off with an update about 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, other highlights included exclusive Spider-Verse footage and details on Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil. The studio also showcased I Know What You Did Last Summer footage and upcoming films like Jumanji and The Legend of Zelda. The event concluded with the Karate Kid: Legends trailer and Sam Mendes’ announcement of The Beatles cinematic event.
Lionsgate: Lionsgate brought a stacked lineup with updates and footage for Ballerina, John Wick: Chapter 5, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, and the official title treatment for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
The fourth Spider-Man movie is set to be called…. Brand New Day! Ditching the ‘home’ titles after Spider-Man Homecoming, Far From Home and No Way Home since at the end of the last one Doctor Strange’s spell makes everyone forget Peter Parker and he has no home left!!! 😭
After the cast reveal of Avengers Doomsday last week, Marvel heads have confirmed that the entire cast hasn’t been announced yet and there’s still a few more surprises. Also, confirming that the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and original X-Men all will be fighting Doctor Doom together in the movie.
The casting for The Beatles biopics have finally been confirmed. Touted as a “four-film cinematic event” and the “the first binge-able theatrical experience”, the 4 separate movies will be headlines by Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), in theatres, April 2028. Online, people are wary of the choice of actors, claiming the casting directors are picking whoever’s famous at the moment and that their Yoko Ono may as well be Sydney Sweeney or Awkwafina…
It’s been revealed that the much anticipated third instalment of the movie franchise Now You See Me is being called, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. SO COOL. Also, there’s already talks of a fourth movie going into production.
