Super Bowl LIX- Kendrick Lamar’s performance was the highlight of the day when the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl this year, becoming the most-watched halftime show. The choreography was bursting with symbolism, as Lamar called out Drake on national television (subsequently providing the Internet with a hilarious reaction image) performing his hit ‘Nothing Like Us’ in flared jeans (which are now making a comeback on the fashion scene, for men and women alike, thanks to him).
SZA & Serena Williams surprised the audience with their cameos performing All The Stars, and crip-walking respectively. Serena’s appearance was another dig at Drake and culture at large, as she once dated the rapper and was criticised for the crip-walk move at Wimbledon. Super Bowl’s coveted and expensive TV spots also saw numerous commercials with celebrity cameos, along with trailers for new movies including the live-action Lilo & Stitch, Jurassic World: Rebirth, the new Mission Impossible and Marvel’s Thunderbolts*. Take a look.
