Why’s everyone talking about DeepSeek
A new Chinese-made AI model called DeepSeek is making waves as it is, 1- developed at a fraction of the cost of ChatGPT, 2- is more powerful and advanced than any OpenAI offerings, and 3- uses fewer AI chips (hardware). In turn, it has slashed chip-making giant Nvidia's market value by almost 600 billion US dollars in a single day!
This is also a big talking point as America has been questioning Chinese apps and their technology off late, only for them to emerge as a forerunner of the tech industry. Who knew even ChatGPT was at risk of losing its job to AI?

Paris Couture Week is in full swing, one of the most talked about shows being that of Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring 2025. Creative director Daniel Roseberry took inspiration from Greek mythology. The collection, titled “Icarus,” is the story of a tragic figure who flew too close to the Sun. While the collection was couture, I can see a lot of high street brands taking inspiration from the neutral & black pairings, along with the structured bustiers/tops with voluminous, jellyfish-esque bottoms.
The Chanel show was star-studded with the likes of Pamela Anderson, Dua Lipa, Lily-Rose Depp, Jennie and Kylie Jenner in attendance, the looks followed the classic Chanel silhouettes but stepped away from the maison’s typical black & white. The main takeaway would probably be the pastel colour palette for the Spring season.
Rahul Mishra pondered on Carl Sagan’s book: Pale Blue Dot for his collection, showcasing the impact of humanity on the environment, a future where only high rises remain and flora starts taking over the planet once again. With the majority of the collection in black, specks of gold appeared towards the end to display hope.
